Learning to learn<\/strong> is the ability to organize one's learning, including time planning and understanding different kinds of information when working individually and in groups. This competence is an understanding of the learning process and available opportunities as well as the ability to overcome obstacles. This competence lets to gain and comprehend new knowledge and skills, learn to take help from others, and benefit from it the most. Learning to learn shows students how to apply the knowledge and their personal life experience in different situations at home, work, or when learning something new.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2. Digital literacy<\/strong> is the ability to use information technology independently and critically when achieving goals related to work, learning, leisure, or participation in public life. Digital literacy is based on the main information technology skills: to use computers to find, evaluate, store, and exchange information as well as to communicate and participate in collaborative networks on the Internet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>3. Social and civic competence<\/strong> includes personal, interpersonal, and intercultural competencies as well as all forms of behavior that prepare people for participation in social and working life, especially in an increasingly diverse society, and, when needed, for conflict resolution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><strong>3.1. Civic competence<\/strong> helps people to participate in civic life based on their knowledge of social, political concepts and one's commitment to active and democratic participation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><strong>3.2. Social competence<\/strong> is related to personal and social well-being. It requires an understanding of how to ensure physical and mental health, which is the biggest personal and societies' asset.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>4. Cultural awareness and expression<\/strong> is the understanding of the importance of different creative ideas and emotions in music, performing arts, literature, and visual arts. Cultural expression is essential for the development of creative abilities that can later be applied in a variety of professional fields.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>5. Initiative and entrepreneurship<\/strong> is a person's ability to turn ideas into action. This competence requires creativity, innovation, and a willingness to take risks as well as the ability to plan and manage projects to achieve your goals. This benefits everyone in their daily lives at home and work. This competence allows them to understand work-related contexts and seize opportunities, as well as gain more specific skills and knowledge needed when starting social or commercial activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>6. Mathematical competence and basic competences in science and technology.<\/strong>Mathematical competence is the ability to develop and apply mathematical thinking in solving a variety of problems in everyday situations. Mathematical competence includes different mental methods (logical thinking or spatial thinking) and expression (such as formulas, models, graphs, schemes). Competence in science means the ability and willingness to use knowledge and methods that explain the natural world to raise questions and draw evidence-based conclusions. Competence in technology is understood as the application of knowledge and methods to meet human wishes or needs. Competences in science and technology include the understanding of the changes brought by human activity and the personal responsibility of the citizen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>7. Communication in the mother tongue<\/strong> is the ability to express and interpret concepts, thoughts, feelings, facts, and opinions (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) orally and in writing as well as to communicate in a linguistically appropriate way and creatively in a variety of social and cultural settings such as education, training, work, home and leisure activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>8. Communication in foreign languages<\/strong> includes basic communication skills in the mother tongue: it is based on the ability to understand, express, and interpret concepts, thoughts, feelings, facts, and opinions orally and in writing (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in a relevant social and cultural environment such as when learning, spending free time, being at work or home. Communicating in foreign languages also requires skills such as mediation and intercultural understanding.
